Acoustic music for short videos

A simple acoustic background-track brief: short, instrumental, loopable, and scoped to the videos it would accompany.

I was thinking about music that could sit behind my short videos without making each one feel like it needed a whole soundtrack. I clarified that I meant one basic acoustic guitar track. That changed the brief from a general discussion of custom music to something a guitarist could understand: instrumental, unobtrusive, repeatable, and easy to use under speech.

The conversation also touched on commissioning a track, but it stopped before I chose a performer or heard a recording. The durable part is the brief I was refining. A musician would still need to know the mood, length, pace, how the ending should loop, and what rights I needed for the videos. The exchange helps specify those questions; it does not supply the finished audio.

The musical brief

The assistant suggested a short instrumental recording, with a 30- or 60-second loop as one possible deliverable. A loop could provide a reusable background without requiring a new composition for every video. The arrangement would stay with acoustic guitar, without vocals or extra instrumental layers.

The mood still needed a decision. The examples offered were calm, upbeat, reflective, or rustic. Those were alternatives, not a settled direction. The useful next step would have been choosing one and describing the kind of video it should sit behind.

Part of the brief Direction from the discussion
Instrumentation Basic acoustic guitar
Role Background for short videos
Possible format Short loop, with 30 or 60 seconds suggested
Production scope Keep the arrangement simple
Open choice Mood and feel

What needed clarifying before commissioning

The discussion also separated the music from its intended use. Exclusivity, platforms, reuse, revisions, and delivery length were questions for the eventual brief. They were not settled terms or permissions granted by the conversation.

I had narrowed the request to one reusable acoustic track and a few questions for a musician. There was no chosen performer or recording at the end of the exchange; the work was getting the brief small and clear enough to commission.
